In musical theater, the best performances move the audience from watchers to participators. Singing a song with good pitch, tone and quality of voice is a beautiful thing but drawing an audience in with your stage presence, emotion, and commitment to character, creates a very special experience for the performers and the audience. The goal of every performer should be to draw the audience in to each moment allowing them to relate to something they are experiencing from the performance. In this class, we will discover how to connect to the characters we are playing and how to use our voices, faces, and bodies to communicate to an audience while drawing them in to the story. Get ready to take your performance to the next level as we go beyond the song and learn what stage presence truly is!
