Class Description

Are you looking for a focused, dynamic way to practice and improve your harmony singing skills? When you sing together in different harmonies, you experience a deep connection between the the other singers, audience members, and yourself, becoming one voice. This class is perfect for singers who find singing harmony a challenge, and great for those who want to prep for auditions, duets, & ensemble pieces. Specifically, we will focus on:
  • interval recognition
  • pitch accuracy
  • blending
  • hearing and choosing harmony notes
  • sticking to your part (not shifting to whatever the person next to you is singing)
The only requirements are your EARS, your VOICE, your BRAIN and the desire to improve how you sing with others.

Peter Horecka

A 2017 graduate of the Lutheran affiliated Gustavus Adolphus College (St. Peter, MN), I am currently a freelance Audio Engineer in the greater Nashville area. Growing up in Franklin with current CYT Leadership Team member Elise Horecka, I spent my childhood performing with the Starbright and Pulltight community theatre programs, developing a passion for musical theatre and performance. After a quick, two-year stint playing junior hockey in central Canada, I spent the next four years at Gustavus, earning a degree in Communication Studies while also studying vocal performance and performing with the premier concert choir. Joining CYT Nashville is an exciting opportunity as I get to rekindle my passion for musical theatre and performance with the bright, talented young performers here in my hometown. Looking forward to a fun ride!
